A Brief History of the Sydney Military Officers' Spring Ball
Originally known as 'The Middle Head Spring Ball', the Sydney Military Officers' Spring Ball was first held circa 1990 and hosted by 10th Terminal Regiment. Upon the relocation of 10th Terminal Regiment to Townsville, the Officers of Victoria Barracks - Sydney decided that an annual Ball must continue! And so in 2009, the Spring Ball was reborn as the 'Sydney Military Officers' Spring Ball' and has now become the premier military social activity of the year, bringing together Officers and their guests from the various Army, Navy and Air Force bases across Sydney.
Honouring the proud history of the Officers' Mess, each year the privilege of deciding the theme for that year's Spring Ball falls to the President of the Victoria Barracks Officers' Mess. Held within the spectacular Officers' Mess and surrounding grounds, the rich history of Victoria Barracks provides the perfect setting for an evening of fun, music, dancing and more than a little fanfare!
